We love to bring out these squishy, ribbed mitts as soon as the air turns chilly. They’re perfect for a foggy morning commute across Puget Sound. Or typing with the thermostat turned down, or texting, or knitting out of doors! Plus, the nice, neat sweep of our thumb gusset is so handsome.

We’ve knit this pair of Ferryboat Mitts in Kelbourne Woolens . This aran-weight yarn is made in Donegal, Ireland from 100% merino wool. With a rustic look, soft hand, and those flecks of fiber that we love so much, it’s an authentic Donegal Tweed yarn. Lucky Tweed makes the woolliest, tweediest of mitts—and lucky indeed are those who get to wear them!

FINISHED SIZE
Medium/Large: Approx. 7"/18cm around; to fit an average man's hand.
Arm-warmer length: 12½"/32 cm. Ribbed throughout, these mitts will fit a wide range of hand sizes.

YARN
1 skein (215 yds/190m each). Approx. 210 yds/192m for arm-warmer length.

NEEDLES
US 6 (4mm) double-point needles, or size to obtain gauge.
Double-points one size larger than gauge size for arm warmer cuffs.
